On Friday, October 11th, LALSA hosted its annual fall party, FALLSA. The party usually includes Cuban food, Latin music, and a PIG ROAST. In past years, we have purchased a roasted pig to serve at the party. This year, we took on the actual roasting in a "Caja China" or Cuban roasting box. In the driving rain, we roasted a 60 pound pig that had marinated in Cuban mojo from the night before. The final result was DELICIOUS and a huge success. Never doubt a group of LALSA students on a mission!

2L Penn LALSA member Bre Piper was one of 40 students selected to participate in the inaugural Microsoft IP Institute by the HNBA. She spent a week in Washington D.C. visiting the Federal Circuit, Congress, and various other government offices involved in intellectual property.

HNBA 2013 Moot Court Competition (Atlanta, GA)
Our first ever Penn LALSA team attended the 18th Annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition and won third place overall! One of our 2L members, Bre Piper, also won second place as Best Oralist at the competition. Here they are photographed with Willy Ferrer, our 2013 LALSA Keynote Speaker and a Penn Law/LALSA alumnus at the HNBA Gala Dinner in Atlanta. We are very proud!
