1L Summer: 1L Diversity Fellow at Latham & Watkins' Houston office (returned for 2L summer and returning post-graduation)
Felicia, one of this year's Co-Mentoring Chairs, is a 3L at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She is also pursuing a Master's degree in Bioethics at Penn. Having served as the Mentoring Chair during her 2L year, Felicia coordinated the "familias" mentorship program and partnered with Penn Law's Admissions Office to increase the focus on Latin@ student recruitment. Felicia is from blink-and-you'll-miss-it Cleveland, New Mexico. As one of the few students at Penn Law from the Southwest, she spends a lot of time explaining that, no, she's not from Arizona. She graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2012 with a BA in Anthropology & Spanish. She then taught 3rd Grade (in a pirate-themed classroom) in Houston as a Teach For America Corps Member. Felicia was selected as a Latham & Watkins' Diversity Fellow and spent both her 1L and 2L summers in the firm's Houston office, where she will return upon graduation. In her down time, Felicia enjoys reading for pleasure (AKA not law school textbooks), Yelp-ing yummy food options and hanging out with her cat, Luna Lovegood.
After graduation, Felicia will return to Latham & Watkins, Houston.
